About
My Philosophy
Every human being is a complex connection of body, mind, spirit, nature, and nurture whose whole is greater than the sum of their parts
Long term change and growth is only possible when we start exactly where we are and move with compassion and curiosity through the non-linear spiral of growth
I (strive to) approach my own journey through self discovery with joy in my actions and kindness towards my ever-developing self
Creativity, Curiosity, Joy, and Connection are my core values
My Story
Yoga helps me cultivate a deep awareness of myself through the practice of mindfully moving my body and paying attention to my breath. I practice yoga because it connects, grounds, and centers me in my body and intuition.
I teach Yoga, read/study Tarot, and offer Coaching because i’m passionate about helping people connect with their most authentic selves.
These three modalities - Yoga, Tarot, and Coaching - have a natural connection for me in my work with others. The mindful movement and breath practices of yoga help us to connect to our bodies and a deep sense of inner knowing that exists beyond the expectations of our culture and society. The tarot is a tool to aide us in understanding and interpreting this deep inner knowing, whose messages are often silenced by our ego. Coaching is a method of figuring out how to successfully move through the world in a way that aligns with our deepest sense of knowing - which can be likened to purpose, meaning making, authenticity, creativity, and even joy.
I have been teaching yoga since April 2017. I completed the 250-hour Foundational Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Wake Up Yoga in Philadelphia, PA. In 2018, I completed the Restorative Yoga Teacher Training at Wake Up Yoga, and the Love Your Brain Yoga Teacher Training program. I currently teach vinyasa (flow) style yoga, restorative yoga, and the Love Your Brain FUNdamentals Series for people who have been impacted by a Traumatic Brain Injury.
I studied psychology and philosophy as an undergraduate student at Kalamazoo College. I received a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011, studying school and mental health counseling. I’ve worked with nonprofit professionals and organizations, small businesses, and individuals since 2008 to strategize and actualize their growth and build their capacity.
I’d love the opportunity to work with you on your journey towards deeper connection to your Self.
